All businesses seeking to operate in Ogun state must obtain the business premises permit/certificate as specified in the second schedule of the Ogun State Business Premises Registration Law as amended in 2006. The business premises permit/certificate is issued by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
A Ride Hailing business applicant must be registered as a private limited liability company with the Corporate Affairs Commission (“CAC”) with at least one director before obtaining the business premises permit/certificate.
Please note that there is no specified minimum share capital for ride hailing companies but it is advisable that such companies should be registered with not less than 10 Million share capital.

Other requirements for obtaining the business premises permit/certificate are:
- The Company’s name
- The Company’s Address (located in Ogun state)
- Valid Email address and Phone number of the company.
- Full name of the MD/CEO.
- MD/CEO’s Phone Number.
The total cost of incorporation and licensing a ride hailing company and annual renewal costs in Ogun State should not exceed N500,000 excluding professional fees.
Please note that the provision of a regulatory framework for Ride Hailing business at Ogun State Ministry of Transportation is still under review, nevertheless it expected that the ride hailing business entity ensures that all vehicles and drivers under their platform are duly registered at the Ministry of Transportation.
