THE LEGALITY OF INDEFINITE SUSPENSION OF AN EMPLOYEE
Suspension is the placement of an employee in an involuntary, paid or unpaid status for a temporary indeterminate period of time pending investigation, inquiry, or further management action. Suspension is the temporal withdrawal from employment, as distinguished from permanent severance.
